Next-gen Ford Figo hatchback spotted again

The upcoming Ford Figo hatchback has been spotted again. The car is expected to be launched later this year.

Ford sells the new Figo as the Ka in Brazil. The car uses Ford's new design language with an Aston Martin-like, hexagonal front grille. At the rear, the Christmas tree tail lamps have been replaced by more modern units. Ford will also launch a compact sedan based on the same platform.

The Figo hatchback is likely to be powered by 4-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel units. A naturally aspirated version of the 3-cylinder, 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine could also be used.

The Ford Figo hatchback and compact sedan are expected to be rolled out of Ford's new plant located at Sanand in the state of Gujarat. Production is likely to begin before the end of the first quarter of 2015. The two new cars will replace the current Figo hatchback and the Classic sedan, respectively.
