New Volvo EV crossover in development; unveil in 2025

The upcoming crossover will borrow design cues from Volvo's Concept Recharge

Swedish car maker, Volvo is reported to be working on an all-new electric crossover. According to a media report, the new Volvo electric crossover has been codenamed V546 and will be positioned between the XC60 and XC90 offerings.

Although Volvo is yet to confirm any details, reports suggest that the new electric crossover could be based on a new EV platform, which will also underpin the XC90 successor. The upcoming crossover will borrow design cues from Volvo's Concept Recharge and also come equipped with the latest advanced driver-assistance systems among other features.

The Volvo electric crossover will be manufactured at the brand's American facility and is expected to make its debut sometime in 2025. Ahead of its arrival though, Volvo plans to introduce the BEV successor of the XC90, expected to be called the Embla.
