BMW has launched the new M5 Competition facelift in the Indian market. It is priced at Rs 1.62 crore (ex-showroom, India).
The new BMW M5 Competition now comes with a number of updates and revisions over the previous model. This includes new twin L-shaped LED DRLs integrated with the brand's laser LED headlamps, smoked LED tail lamps, new 20-inch M-light alloy wheels, black inserts on the rear bumper and black chrome tailpipes. Along with this, the new M5 Competition also comes with its kidney grille, ORVM caps and rear spoiler all finished in gloss black. The performance sedan features black M5 Competition badging all around as well.
On the inside, the BMW M5 Competition facelift is offered with premium leather upholstery options. The M5 Competition comes with M-multifunction seats with the illuminated M logo. Other M-specific parts include the seat belts, footrest and steering wheel.
There are plenty of other standard features as well. These include electrically adjustable seats with memory function and seat heating, electric sunroof, four-zone climate control, automatic tailgate and rear-seat entertainment system.
The facelifted BMW M5 Competition also comes with a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, wireless charging, heads-up display and an M-mode selector; among others.
Powering the new BMW M5 Competition is a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine. It produces 616 BHP and 750 NM, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. BMW claims that the M5 Competition can accelerate from 0 - 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds.
Customers of the BMW M5 Competition will also gain exclusive membership to the 'BMW Excellence Club'. It will offer programs such as bespoke travel, the high life, grandstand and other BMW privileges.
The BMW M5 Competition will be imported to India via the CBU route. It rivals the likes of the Mercedes-AMG E63 S.
