My Skoda Octavia vRS feels brand-new even after 6 years and 70,000 km

I owned another beauty from the Skoda family earlier (Laura 1.8 TSI), but the vRS is evidently ageing a lot more graciously.

BHPian sivadas recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

I know it has been a long time since I have updated anything here on my car. That is partially to do with the Covid impact and also because of my work-related challenges. But a lot has happened in the last 4-5 years and the car has clocked many thousand kilometres, travelling across South India including countless trips to Kerala (native town), many official journeys to Chennai and one memorable drive to Hyderabad also.

Though the car has covered almost 70K kilometres, it still looks and feels very new. When I say this, you need to really trust me. Though I have owned another beauty from the Skoda family earlier (Laura 1.8 TSI), vRS is evidently ageing a lot more graciously. In summary, even after 6+ years of (meritorious) service, the car feels almost like brand new.

Not sure if I mentioned this in the earlier threads, but I did change the stock tyres to PS4s. Sadly, one of the PS4s had to be changed to JK Levitas as it burst (due to a mega pothole) on my way to Hampi. Maybe it's time to change/upgrade the wheels and tyres to 18", need to decide this soon. The engine is in stock condition, which is the plan anyway.

Coming to the exterior, the car was treated with ceramic coating during the first year by Esperto (Esperto Car Care-Ojus Vaishak) which had a major role in the fresh look of the car even after 6 years. Recently, Esperto has redone their ceramic treatment and the car looks fabulously fresh and shiny. Thanks much to the Esperto team for their attention to detail and outstanding customer service!

I know if I say "vRS is a thoroughly enjoyable, exhilarating and very practical daily drive car", that becomes too obvious for most of the people here. For the same reason, it is very difficult to find an apt replacement/upgrade for vRS. So, any meaningful upgrade would result in spending tons of money and still compromise on some of the practical aspects.

Sharing a few recent photos, after the beauty treatment at Esperto!
