My Honda CB300F: 60,000km update and ownership experience

The overall experience with the bike has been pretty good and it seems like even the spare parts situation has improved at least for wear and tear parts.

Honda CB 300F 60000 km update:
Here's a follow up to my previous post about 1 year back now that the bike has crossed 60000 km. I have completed 11 services so far and the service experience has been largely good. Since my previous post I've done quite a few solo and group rides. Here are some of my favorites:

1. Chennai to Anakulam (with Chennai Renegades):

This one was a group ride to a beautiful but comparatively untouched location in Kerala. You can literally see large groups of elephants drinking water at a location there. The ride up was beautiful and I'd recommend that everyone go there at least once. Overall this ride came to around 1250ish km.

2. Chennai - Gokarna - Murudeshwar - Maravanthe - Jog falls - Tumkur - Chennai (with Chennai Renegades):

This 2100 km ride over 6 days is definitely one of my personal favourite rides. It has everything ranging from scenic highways, beautiful wide ghats, long stretches of bad roads, coastal roads. The bike did it extremely well with no signs of fatigue at all. Definitely one for the books.

3. Chennai - Belgaum - Mumbai - Goa - Bangalore - Chennai:

This solo ride was a dream ride for me ever since I started riding in 2023. I started on December 28th 2024 from Chennai at 4 am and reached my stay in Belgaum by 6 pm. Covered 858 km on the first day. The second day had a lot more bad roads once I entered Maharashtra (Famous Belgaum - Kolhapur - Satara stretch) and by the time I reached my uncle's place in Mumbai it was 7:30 pm. Started the return from Mumbai and headed towards Goa on January 3rd. I took the Panvel - Pen - Nagothane route with a deviation at Sangameshwar. While the roads weren't great the ride was one of the most enjoyable rides for me because the route was super scenic and fun to ride. The deviation through Devrukh from Sangameshwar had beautiful roads and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I reached Goa by 5 pm and stayed one night in Candolim. Since it was just after New Year's, there was barely any crowd and I got to see a really nice sunset in peace. The next day I started from Goa at 6 am and had a beautiful ride to Bangalore. The first 180ish km took 4-5 hours but once I crossed Hubli, I was able to pick up speed and reached my friend's place in Bangalore by 7 pm. The next day started at 7:30 am from Bangalore and reached Chennai by 1 pm. This 2887 km long ride is definitely my favourite ride so far and the bike showed absolutely no issues.

Other than these rides, I also did chennai to Bangalore and back about 3 times and did couple of group rides to Thalli and Kolli hills.

Coming to the parts replaced:

1. Clutch: Had the clutch replaced very recently at 59827 km. Costed me about 3.6k + labour
2. Sprocket: Continuing on from the previous post, replaced my second sprocket kit at 35561 km and replaced that at 55147 km
3. Coneset: Replaced the coneset at 50496 km. I was returning from Bangalore in November 2024 when suddenly I started experiencing crazy wobbling(almost like the death wobble). Luckily it never got out of hand and about 50 km later it reduced drastically. I continued using it the rest of the week for my work commutes but seeing how bad the wobble was, gave it during the weekend to the service center and got the coneset replace. Haven't faced any wobbling issues since
4. Spark plug: Replaced the stock spark plug at 55147 km
5. Brake pads: Front pads have been about 3 times since the last post. On an average I get a life of 10k km per set which I'm okay with. The rear brake pads are still running on the same set I changed at 26k km.

I'm still using the Zana ABS top box but I've changed the rack. I'm now using a Lluvia rack with seems to have much better load bearing capabilities. The Zana rack I'd been using before got bent during the bad road stretch on the way to Gokarna and once I returned to Chennai I replaced it with the Lluvia rack. So far it's been fine.

Overall great experience with the bike and still going strong. Hope to do many more rides on this.
