Mr. Mayank Pareek, now President, PVBU at Tata Motors

It's official now. Mr. Mayank Pareek has been appointed by Tata Motors as President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit (PVBU).

Earlier this month the news of his resignation as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Sales and Marketing of Maruti Suzuki, caused quite a stir in the Indian automobile industry. He served Maruti Udyog for a tenure of over two decades (which he joined in 1991).

On 1st October, 2014 he will commence his duties at Tata Motors; taking over operations from Mr. Ranjit Yadav, who will now head the International Business for Passenger and Commercial vehicles. Mr. Pareek's responsibilities as the President (PVBU) will be to steer the passenger vehicle business. He will also be a member of the Corporate Steering Committee.
