MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo in India!

Jorge Lorenzo, the 2015 MotoGP champion is on a visit to India. This is his second visit to the country.

Hosted by Yamaha, the purpose of Lorenzo's visit is to try and promote motorsports in India. He rode the YZF-R3 on the race track at the Buddh International Circuit. As part of his visit to the circuit, Lorenzo also met 30 R3 owners and participated in a riding session with them.

28-years old Jorge Lorenzo joined the MotoGP Yamaha Factory Racing Team in 2008 as two time 250cc world champion. He went on to win the MotoGP title in 2010, 2012 and 2015.

In 1973, Yamaha was the first Japanese manufacturer to win a 500cc Grand Prix. In 1975, it became the first Japanese company to win the 500cc world title. It was the first time a two-stroke machine had won in the premier class.

Yamaha had also hosted multiple time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi during the 2010 Auto Expo.
