Hyundai is expected to launch the next-gen i20 on October 28, 2020. Now, we have received images of the car at a dealership.
In the images, two cars can be seen – one in red and one in grey. The images indicate that the front end of the i20 bears resemblance to the Verna facelift which was launched in March this year. The car has a glossy black grille with an H badge in the centre and a slim glossy black air dam and triangular fog lamp pods on either side.
At the rear, the new i20 gets wraparound tail lights with a reflector and chrome strip connecting the two tail lamp clusters. It has a dual-tone rear bumper with a glossy black diffuser and glossy black trim around the rear windshield. The car also has a shark fin antenna and dual-tone alloy wheels.
At least one of the cars seen in these images is the Asta variant. According to details leaked earlier this month, the third-generation Hyundai i20 could come in four variants - Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O).
Hyundai is expected to offer three engine options in the new i20. These include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which will be paired to a manual transmission and an IVT, a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired to an iMT or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine paired to a manual transmission. These are the same engines and transmissions that are available in the Venue sub-4 meter crossover.
