More images - new Mahindra Scorpio Automatic

Mahindra has been testing an automatic variant of the new Scorpio SUV for a while now. We had reported about the sighting of a test mule of the car in November 2014 (click here to read report). The vehicle has been spotted once again.

The new images show, what is believed to be an "automatic" badge on the tailgate of the Scorpio. In our previous images, we had seen that the vehicle gets "Automatic" lettering on the plastic cladding of the front door. On this test mule, the same seems to be missing.

The Scorpio automatic is likely to be based on the top-end variant (S10). Like the other variants, it will use a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that puts out 120 bhp @ 4000 rpm and 280 Nm of torque @ 1800-2800 rpm. The SUV is likely to use a 6-speed Bosch-sourced transmission.

Media reports suggest that the Scorpio automatic is likely to be launched in April 2015.
