Mercedes previews MLC Concept ahead of Beijing show

German auto giant, Mercedes-Benz has previewed a concept coupe SUV at the company's shareholders' meeting. The company will officially unveil the concept at the Beijing Auto Show.

Codenamed C292, the production version of the concept is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2015. Based on the ML SUV, the concept is likely to be called the MLC. While it is expected to share its mechanicals with the ML, Mercedes-Benz says that the MLC will have sharper dynamics.

The company also suggested that the production version will undergo detailed changes, but will sport an exterior design very similar to the concept.

The MLC is expected to get a range of engines consisting of petrol, diesel and hybrid units.

Mercedes-Benz will pit the MLC against the upcoming second-generation BMW X6.
