Mercedes-Benz India to launch new C-Class on November 25

Mercedes-Benz has announced that it will launch the new C-Class sedan in India on November 25, 2014.

The new C-Class, model code W205, uses the company's Modular Rear-drive Architecture has a hint of the new S-Class in its styling. With a length of 4686 mm and a width of 1810 mm, the new car is 95 mm longer and 40 mm wider than the outgoing model. The new car has a wheelbase of 2840 mm, which is a gain of 80 mm. Even though it is larger, the new C-Class manages to be 100 kg lighter than the old car due to the use of more aluminium in its construction.

The interior of the new C-Class is also inspired by the S-Class. It is more spacious than before and features a new dashboard, a multifunction steering wheel, heads-up display and other equipment including a host of saftey features. The boot space is also more compared to the old car.

Initially, the company is likely to launch only the C200 petrol as a CBU. The C220 CDI (diesel) will be launched in the first quarter of 2015 as a CKD. The new C-Class is expected to be priced higher than the current model.
