Mercedes-Benz imports CLA facelift for homologation

Mercedes-Benz India has imported two units of the refreshed CLA-Class 4-door coupe for homologation.

Records on Zauba show that one unit (each) of the CLA 220 and CLA 200d have been brought into the country earlier this week. The CLA 220 comes with a 1,991cc, 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 181 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 300 Nm of torque @ 1,200-4,000 rpm. The CLA 200d is powered by a 2,143cc, 4-cylinder diesel engine that develops 134 BHP @ 3,200-4,000 rpm and 300 Nm of torque @ 1,400-3,000 rpm.

The facelifted CLA-Class was showcased at the New York Motor show earlier this year. At the front, the car gets a diamond radiator grille in black and a new front bumper with a silver, black or chrome trim strip. At the rear, the bumper gets an optional panel incorporating a chrome or black (Night package) trim strip between the tailpipes, which sit flush in the bumper. Other changes include restyled alloy wheels and the new 'Cavansite Blue Metallic' exterior paint shade.

On the inside, the car gets new upholstery, chrome-plated controls and an updated instrument cluster. An 8-inch free-standing infotainment screen is available as an option for the Audio 20 USB and Audio 20 CD systems.

Features such as LED headlamps and hands-free access are a part of the optional equipment.
