Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the new GLE in India. The SUV comes in a long-wheelbase version and will be offered with three engine options.
In India, the GLE is likely to be offered in three variants - GLE 300d Exclusive, GLE 400d Elite and GLE 450 Elite. It gets LED headlamps and tail lights, 19/20-inch alloy wheels with air-suspension and features such as panoramic sunroof, 4-zone automatic climate control, 12.3-inch touchscreen and instrument cluster, wireless charging, 64 colour ambient lighting, 360-degree camera and electrically adjustable rear seats among others.
The base GLE 300d will be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 241 BHP @ 4,200 rpm and 500 Nm @ 1,600-2,400 rpm. The GLE 400d will come with a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder diesel engine that puts out 326 BHP @ 3,600-4,000 rpm and 700 Nm @ 1,200-3,000 rpm, while the top-spec GLE 450 uses a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder petrol engine that makes 362 BHP @ 5,500-6,100 rpm and 500 Nm @ 1,600-4,500 rpm. All engines will be BS6 compliant and will be paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
