Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 AMG Coupe spied with minimal camouflage

Spy photographers have just snapped what appears to be the Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 AMG Coupe SUV. The German car maker debuted the 'Concept Coupe SUV' at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. Based on the concept, the GLE SUV (Earlier thought to be the MLC before the nomenclature change) has been seen under heavy camouflage. However, the images seen here show the SUV in its AMG guise with the bodywork largely exposed.

The GLE 63 AMG will rival the BMW X6 M. AMG introduced a new 4.0-litre twin-turbo motor with the AMG GT. However, reports suggest that the GLE 63 AMG will use the same 5.5-litre V8 that is used across multiple models in AMG range, including the other SUVs.

The test mule sports a ventilated bonnet, single slat front grille, plastic body cladding, metallic accents on the side steps and a tailgate mounted spoiler. The SUV also gets red brake calipers & a four tailpipe exhaust system.

Mercedes will debut the AMG sport range at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2015. While the GLE AMG Sport is expected to make its debut, the 'full fat' GLE 63 AMG remains an uncertainty.
