Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 4MATIC petrol launched at Rs 74.90 lakh

Mercedes-Benz has launched a petrol variant of the GLE SUV, priced at Rs. 74.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The GLE 400 4MATIC is the first variant of the GLE lineup to be available with a petrol engine option in India.

The German automaker has taken this step to address the changing market sentiments and the inclination of customer demands towards petrol variants. The GLE 400 petrol is the seventh car to be launched by Mercedes-Benz India in 2016. It will initially be available as a CBU (Completely Built-Up) model, while the automaker might consider local assembly in the future.

The Mercedes GLE petrol will be powered by a 3.0-litre, V6 petrol engine that delivers 329 BHP @ 5,250-6,000 rpm, and a peak torque of 480 Nm @ 1,600-4,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a 7-G TRONIC PLUS gearbox. It also gets five driving modes - Comfort, Sport, Slippery, Individual, and Off-road.

Some of the features on offer include LED headlamps, electric sunroof, front memory seats, and active park assist. It also comes with Harman Kardon Logic 7 Surround sound system, which is compatible with Apple CarPlay.

Safety features include six airbags, ABS, EBD, and technologies like Crosswind Assist, Attention Assist, Active Parking Assist and Brake Assist.
