The Maruti Suzuki SX4 S-Cross has been spotted undisguised. A report by Gaadiwaadi claims that the car will be launched as the Across in India.
The Across has a grille with two horizontal chrome slats, a two-tone front bumper with a silver skid plate. The car also has body-coloured door handles and ORVMs and steel wheels. This is rumoured to be the L variant of the Across. Some of the higher variants (V, Z & Z+) are expected to get HID projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, alloy wheels and chrome inserts on the tail lamps.
On the inside, the car has a black dashboard with silver detailing around the AC vents and audio system. Even the centre console is black and silver. Parts like the steering wheel are expected to be shared with other Maruti cars. Higher variants could get audio controls mounted on the steering wheel, climate control and a start/stop button.
The S-Cross is likely to be powered by a 1.3-litre diesel engine developing 89 bhp. This engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. A 1.6-litre diesel engine with 120 bhp and a 6-speed manual gearbox could also be offered. The Z and Z+ variants are likely to get an AllGrip all-wheel drive system.
