Maruti Suzuki has started accepting bookings for the upcoming Ignis hatchback crossover, which is scheduled to be launched on January 13, 2017. Customers can book the car through the official website, by paying a token amount of Rs. 11,000. Most dealers are quoting a waiting period of 3 to 4 weeks for the Ignis, after its official launch.
The Ignis will be sold through Maruti's NEXA dealership network and will share showroom space with the Baleno and the S-Cross. Maruti will be offering various customization options with the Ignis.
The Ignis will be powered by Maruti's familiar 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines. Both these engines will be available with a 5-speed manual and AMT gearboxes. The car's brochure that was leaked earlier this week, reveals that it will be available in four variants - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The entry-level Sigma variant comes only with the petrol engine option, while the AMT unit will be offered only with the mid-level Delta and Zeta variants.
