Maruti Suzuki has started testing the Ertiga facelift on public roads.
While the test mule is heavily masked to camouflage any changes, pictures shot earlier within the premises of the company's manufacturing facility have revealed that the refreshed Ertiga gets a new prominent front grille with thick chrome slats, a tweaked front bumper and chrome inserts in the fog lamp housings. At the rear there is a thick chrome strip above the number plate housing. The sides of the car appear unchanged. The design of the alloy wheels is new.
The new images reveal that the Ertiga will get a touchscreen infotainment system. Other features likely to be provided include a start/stop button, multifunction steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, new upholstery, electrically retractable door mirrors and parking sensors.
The Ertiga facelift is expected to continue with the same 1.3-litre diesel and 1.4-litre petrol engines as the current model. Maruti is likely to tune them for delivering better fuel efficiency and there are rumours that a variant with an automated manual transmission could be introduced as well. Maruti is also likely to give the MPV in V+ and Z+ trim levels.
Indonesia International Motor Show on August 20, 2015. Media reports suggest that the car is likely to be launched in India in the third week of October.
