Maruti delivers over 1,600 cars post lockdown

According to a media report, Maruti Suzuki has delivered more than 1,600 cars since the lockdown restrictions were eased.

The report states that these cars were booked prior to the lockdown and deliveries were scheduled for Navratri, Akshaya Tritiya and Gudi Padwa. The cars couldn't be delivered after the countrywide lockdown was announced on March 25.

According to Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki, almost all deliveries since the resumption of operations were contactless. The company has digitalised most of the processes to minimise physical contact.

Meanwhile, Hyundai is said to have sold 608 cars in the past week.
