The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has elected Kenichi Ayukawa as its new president. He replaces Rajan Wadhera, Senior Advisor, Mahindra & Mahindra.
Ayukawa has been the MD and CEO of Maruti Suzuki since 2013. He was also the vice-president of the SIAM. This post will now be held by Vipin Sodhi, MD and CEO, Ashok Leyland.
Vinod Agarwal, MD and CEO, Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV) will continue to hold the post of treasurer.
SIAM is a non-profit organization that represents all major vehicle and engine manufacturers in India. It works towards facilitating competitiveness in the auto sector, reducing costs of vehicles, increasing productivity and achieving global standards of quality.
