Maruti Baleno facelift launched at Rs. 5.45 lakh

Maruti Suzuki has launched the updated Baleno in India at prices starting from Rs. 5.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Like the outgoing car, the facelifted Baleno is available in petrol and diesel versions and four trim levels - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha.

The refreshed Baleno gets an updated front end. It features a new grille with 3D detailing, LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, redesigned front bumper with a wide air dam and relocated fog lamps. Higher variants of the Baleno come equipped with precision cut, dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Baleno gets black interiors with blue detailing. The car comes with an updated 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that has smartphone connectivity, navigation with live traffic and vehicle information with alerts and a reverse parking camera.

The facelifted Baleno is powered by the same engines as the outgoing car. It comes with a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 83 BHP and 115 Nm of torque and a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel that makes 74 BHP and 190 Nm of torque. Both engines come paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the petrol unit gets an optional CVT on the Delta, Zeta and Alpha variants.

Safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, seat belt reminder, ISOFIX child safety seat anchors, speed alert system and rear parking sensors are standard across all variants. Maruti claim that the Baleno complies with offset and side crash tests as well as pedestrian safety regulations.
