Mahindra launches TUV300 with 100 BHP at Rs. 8.87 lakh

Mahindra has launched a more powerful version of the TUV300 in India. The vehicle gets the same mHawk100 diesel engine that is found in the NuvoSport. The new engine is available only in the T8 manual and T8 AMT variants of the TUV300, which are priced at Rs. 8,000 higher than the mHawk80-powered T8 and T8 AMT respectively.

The mHawk100 engine is a 1,493cc, 3-cylinder unit with a 2-stage turbocharger. It puts out 100 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 240 Nm of torque @ 1,500-2,800 rpm. The engine has an Eco mode and uses Mahindra's micro-hybrid technology (engine start-stop system). It has an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 18.49 kpl. The 5-speed manual gearbox and 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) have been carried over.

Mahindra claims that the AMT has been refined for smoother shifts. The cushioning of the second row of seats of the TUV300 has been improved and ISOFIX child seat mounts have been provided as well.
