Mahindra launches Gusto scooter at Rs. 43,000

Mahindra Two Wheelers has launched of the Gusto scooter in India at an introductory price of Rs. 43,000 - 47,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the scooter has been launched in the northern and western India and Nepal, it will be rolled out in the rest of India, South Asia, Central America and Africa in a few months.

Mahindra claims that the Gusto's design originated in Italy. It has a unisex design with its turn indicators located on the front apron. The scooter measures 1,825 mm in length, 697 mm in width, 1,188 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1,275 mm. The Gusto rides on 12-inch wheels shod with tubeless tyres. Its fuel tank can carry 6 litres of petrol.

The Gusto is powered by an all-aluminium 109.2 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 4-stroke M-TEC engine that puts out 8 bhp and 8.5 Nm of torque and is mated to a CVT automatic transmission. Suspension duties are taken care of by a telescopic front at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Stopping power comes from 130 mm drum brakes at the front and rear.

Mahindra has equipped the Gusto with a host of features such as height adjustable seat, remote flip key, halogen head lamp with LED pilot lamps, find-me lamps, guide lamps, quick storage and easy front kick.

The Gusto is available in two trim levels:

  • Dx: Rs. 43,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi)
  • Vx: Rs. 47,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The Gusto will compete against the Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter, TVS Wego, Suzuki Let's and Hero Maestro.
