Mahindra e2o Plus India launch on October 21

Mahindra has officially announced that it will be launching the e2o Plus in India on October 21, 2016. The e2o Plus will be based on the two-door e2o, which was launched in 2013. However, the 'Plus' in the name suggest some added features on offer with the new car.

According to Mahindra Electric, which was earlier called Mahindra Reva, the 'e2o' name represents a fusion from energy to oxygen, while the 'Plus' points towards all positive contributions that the electric car will have on the life of its customers. Specifications related to the car haven't been revealed yet, but going from the recent spy shots and official teaser image this is most likely the 4-door version of the e2o.

The Indian automotive industry is still in the initial phases of accepting electric mobility. There are very few options for anyone planning to buy a budget-electric car. But with the Government planning to incline demand towards eco-friendly cars by providing subsidy and excise duty benefits in the near future, many automakers have now started seeing potential in this niche segment.
