The SUV scored 20.26 points out of 34 for adult safety and 12.71 points out of 49 for child occupant protection.

The Mahindra Bolero Neo has been awarded a 1-star safety rating by Global NCAP. The SUV scored 20.26 points out of 34 for adult safety and 12.71 points out of 49 for child occupant protection.

According to the test report, the Bolero Neo offered marginal protection to the driver’s head in the frontal impact test. The passenger’s head showed good protection. The driver and passenger’s necks showed good protection, while chest protection was rated as weak and adequate, respectively.

The driver and passenger’s knees showed marginal protection. The driver’s tibias showed marginal protection, while the passenger’s tibias showed adequate to good protection.

The head, abdomen and pelvis showed good protection in the side impact test, while the chest showed adequate protection. The side pole impact test was not performed on the vehicle.

The child seat for a 3-year old was able to prevent head exposure during the frontal impact test, offering full protection, while the child seat for the 18-month old was not able to prevent head exposure and offered limited protection.

The Bolero Neo does not offer 3-point belts in all seating positions as standard in all versions. Global NCAP noted that the marking warning consumers about rearward facing CRS in the front passenger position does not fulfil the requirements. It does not offer the possibility to disconnect the passenger airbag in case a rearward-facing CRS is installed in this position. The report also mentions that the CRS installation failed in several positions.
