Left my VW ID.4 EV unused for 21 days: Here's how much charge it lost

I used to check the SOC almost everyday during the vacation. About 3 weeks into the vacation, the app displayed a message to switch on "Optimised battery use" option.

BHPian StarrySky recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

We were in India for vacation and during this time, the GTX was left unused. For long-term storage, the owner's manual recommends that the car should be stored with SOC in the 40-70% range.

Accordingly, I parked the car with the display showing 64% SOC and 315km of range remaining:

I used to check the SOC almost everyday during the vacation. About 3 weeks into the vacation, the app displayed a message to switch on "Optimised battery use" option on the app. I did as instructed.

So, how much SOC did the car lose in the 36 days? This is what the car showed when we got back:

I thought maybe the SOC would drop significantly once I switched the car on and drove it for some time. But, no. I did a short run to the local store (about 3km). SOC is still staying at 65% and range shown is now 320km.

Here is one more dislike that I should have mentioned earlier itself. The app is too slow to sync to the car. Be it syncing just to check SOC or turning on the AC, be prepared to wait for a few seconds, even tens of seconds.
