Land Rover Discovery Sport petrol launched at Rs. 56.50 lakh

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India have launched a petrol variant of their most premium SUV offering in the Indian market, the Land Rover Discovery Sport. Prices of the Discovery Sport petrol variant start at Rs. 56.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

This new launch comes as a response to the market's growing inclination towards petrol-powered cars. This change in customer preferences is being attributed to soaring diesel prices and the NGT ban on diesel cars with engine capacity larger than 2.0 litre, which is currently applicable in Delhi NCR. The NGT ban might extend to other cities as well in the near future.

The new petrol Discovery Sport will be available in the HSE trim, and will be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine, capable of developing around 237 BHP. This new engine option will accompany the existing 2.2-litre diesel engine, which churns out 148 BHP and 400 Nm of torque.

The Land Rover Discovery Sport petrol variant will be available across all 23 dealerships across India.
