Kia Sorento 7-seater SUV spied in India

In December 2017, Kia Niro and Sportage were spotted parked at a yard in India. Recently, an image of a completely undisguised test mule of the Kia Sorento has surfaced online. It was reportedly spotted in Andhra Pradesh.

The Kia Sorento is a 7-seater SUV that was showcased at dealer roadshows, organised by Kia back in August 2017. The vehicle has now been registered at the Anantapur RTO. It is the same district in Andhra Pradesh where Kia is setting up its manufacturing facility and hence it's believed that this particular Sorento belongs to Kia Motors India. Further, the badges on the rear of the vehicle confirm that this is the top-spec GT Line variant.

The Sorento shares its platform with the Hyundai Santa Fe. It measures 4,800 mm in overall length, 1,890 mm in width and 1,690 mm in height. The Sorento has a wheelbase of 2,780 mm, ground clearance of 185 mm and comes with a 71-litre fuel tank.

In global markets, the Kia Sorento is offered with a 2.2-litre petrol engine that produces 185 BHP, a 2.0-litre diesel engine with an output of 182 BHP and a 197 BHP, 2.2-litre diesel engine. The Sorento is offered with a choice of a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic or an 8-speed automatic transmission. It also comes with all-wheel drive.

Some of the features offered on the Sorento include parking assist with 360-degree camera, dynamic bending lighting system, speed limit warning, smart cruise control with stop & go, lane keeping assist, idle stop & go, forward collision avoidance, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic collision warning, hill start assist, stability control and 6 airbags.
