Jim Farley to take over as new CEO of Ford

Jim Farley has been appointed as the new CEO of Ford. He will take charge on October 1, 2020.

Farley, who currently holds the post of chief operating officer will replace Jim Hackett who has elected to retire. Hackett will stay with the company as a special advisor till March 2021.

Farley joined Ford in 2007 as global head of Marketing and Sales and went on to lead Lincoln, Ford South America. In April 2019, Farley was chosen to lead Ford’s New Businesses, Technology & Strategy team, before being appointed chief operating officer in February of this year.

Prior to joining Ford, Farley has worked with Toyota.
