Jaguar F-Pace officially launched in India

Jaguar India had revealed prices of the F-Pace earlier this month. The British automaker officially launched the SUV yesterday, i.e., 20th October, at an event in Mumbai. The F-Pace will be available in three variants - Pure, Prestige, and R-Sport, and a limited run First Edition trim.

The automaker had built an 18-meter tall beacon at the launch venue to mark the arrival of its first ever SUV. The event also saw the presence of India's famed Formula 1 driver, Narain Karthikeyan, and famous singer Shankar Mahadevan.

The F-Pace has its looks inspired from the F-Type sportscar. It has been given all SUV characteristics, including a high ground clearance, flared wheel arches, and black body cladding. The front fascia gets adaptive LED headlights with Jaguar's signature J-shaped DRLs. The taillights too get LED treatment, and look similar to those found on the F-Type.

Meanwhile, the limited-run F-Pace First Edition hosts a slew of additional features and design elements. It will be available in four colour options: Caesium Blue, Halycon Gold, Rhodium Silver, and Ultimate Black. The First Edition boasts of 20-inch venom alloy wheels, Houndstooth embossed Windsor Leather Sports seats, and special floor carpet mats.

Jaguar will initially be offering the F-Pace with a choice of two diesel engine options - a 2.0-litre Ingenium mill that churns out 177 BHP and 430 Nm of torque, and a 3.0-litre V6 that generates 296 BHP and 700 Nm of torque. An 8-speed ZF automatic transmission will be standard across the range, which will send power to all four wheels. Later in the SUV's lifetime, a 2.0-litre petrol engine capable of 237 BHP will also be added.

Jaguar has further announced that bookings of the F-Pace have now begun all of its 23 authorized dealerships, located in Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kochi, Karnal, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Raipur. The deliveries are expected to begin from November 2016.
