Isuzu launches BS6-compliant D-Max & S-Cab pick-up trucks

In addition to a BS6-compliant diesel engine, the D-Max and S-Cab also get a few exterior and interior updates.

The Isuzu D-Max and S-Cab pick-up trucks are now available with a BS6-compliant engine. The D-Max is available in three variants with prices starting at Rs. 7,84,239. The S-Cab is available in two variants and prices start at Rs. 9,82,150 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). These are introductory prices.

The Isuzu D-Max comes with a single cab and a large loading bay that can carry upto 1,240 kg. The D-Max Super Strong has a payload capacity of 1,710 kg.

While the D-Max is more utilitarian, the S-Cab has a more SUV-like appearance. It comes with a dual-cab design with a 2.2 sq. meter loading bay at the rear. It has features such as 6-way adjustable driver's seat and air-conditioning with rear AC vents.

Both the D-Max and S-Cab feature a new grille, bonnet, bumpers and headlamps. Both models get a new instrument cluster that has a gear shift indicator and a Brake override system that reacts to panic stopping of the vehicle even when the accelerator is pressed with the brakes.

The Isuzu D-Max and S-Cab are powered by a BS6-compliant 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine equipped with a variable geometry turbocharger. The engine produces 78 BHP @ 3,800 rpm and 176 Nm @ 1,500-2,400 rpm and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The D-Max and D-Max S-Cab are available in three colour options - Splash White, Titanium Silver and Galena Grey.
