According to a media report, the second-generation Suzuki Ertiga MPV will be unveiled at the 2018 Indonesia International Motor Show in Jakarta on April 19, 2018. Maruti is expected to launch the new Ertiga in India around August this year.
Test mules of the second-generation Ertiga have already been spotted in India. The spy images suggest that in terms of proportions, the new model might be slightly larger than the current Ertiga. The test car appears to be longer and wider. The increased rear overhang suggests that the new Ertiga might be inspired from the Ertiga Drezza, which is 60 mm longer than the car sold in India. Apart from this, the new Ertiga is expected to feature a redesigned front with a new grille and headlamps as well as revised rear end styling. It is likely to get a redesigned interior with updated equipment.
Reports suggest that the new Ertiga will be offered with a 1.5-litre petrol engine in the Indonesian market. In India, Maruti might offer it with the current set of engines which include the 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder petrol which makes 91 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm and the 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine which produces 89 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm @ 1,750 rpm. Additionally, Maruti might also introduce the rumoured 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine on the new Ertiga in the near future.
