Hyundai Venue iMT priced at Rs. 10 lakh; Sport Trim launched

Hyundai has launched the Venue with the Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT), which is essentially a clutchless manual gearbox. The car is available in two variants - SX and SX (O), priced from Rs. 9,99,900 (ex-showroom, India).

The new 6-speed iMT is available with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine produces 118 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 172 Nm @ 1,500-4,000 rpm.

The 6-speed iMT uses a Transmission Gear Shift (TGS) Lever with Intention Sensor, Hydraulic Actuator and Transmission Control Unit (TCU). The system enables the driver to seamlessly shift gears without the need to mechanically operate a clutch pedal.

Hyundai's 6-speed iMT is unlike traditional automated manual transmissions (AMTs), where the gearshifts are automated. In the case of the iMT, the driver has to operate the gearbox manually, while the function of the clutch is automated.

Hyundai has also introduced a new Sport trim on the 1.0-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel versions. It comes with features such as a flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters on the 1.0-litre petrol DCT version, Sport emblem, red brake calipers, metal pedals, gloss black grille and dark grey upholstery with red stitching. The Sport trim comes in a new dual-tone colour of Titan Grey with Phantom Black Roof.

The carmaker has also added a new S+ trim on the 1.2-litre petrol version of the Venue. This variant comes with projector headlamps and projector fog lamps, LED tail lights as well as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
