Hyundai launches naming contest for upcoming small car (AH2)

Hyundai has announced a naming contest for its upcoming small car codenamed AH2. The carmaker has set up a website where people can suggest a name for the car and stand a chance to win the new small car.

Entries can be submitted on this website or via Whatsapp or SMS on 8652000377 / 8652000388 / 8652000399. People can submit multiple entries and from the most popular suggestions, Hyundai will select a winner, who will be awarded with a base variant of the new car. The last date of submission is September 25, 2018 and the name of the car is expected to be announced on October 4, 2018.

The AH2 will be Hyundai's new entry-level small car that is said to replace the Eon. Spy images suggest that the car will feature a design similar to the Grand i10. It is expected to get large sweptback headlamps and dual-tone bumpers. The interior of the car is likely to feature a small infotainment screen, 3-spoke steering wheel and a twin-pod instrument cluster with a digital readout.

Hyundai might offer a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine mated to a manual and an automated manual transmission (AMT) on the new car. It expected to compete with the Maruti Alto, Renault Kwid and Tata Tiago in the Indian market.
