Hyundai i20 Active: More images and details

The official images of the upcoming Hyundai i20 Active are here.

Based on the Elite i20-hatchback, the pseudo SUV features cosmetic add-ons to distinguish it from its sibling. These alterations include a restyled grille, redesigned bumpers, black plastic cladding around the skirting and bumpers, silver roof rails, newly designed alloy wheels, circular fog lamps at the front and back, silver skid plates and thicker eyebrows above the headlamps. The car also features projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, a rear spoiler and higher ground clearance than the Elite i20.

On the inside, the i20 Active gets a black dashboard with orange inserts around the infotainment system, air-conditioner vents, gear lever and on the gear lever. The seats are also black with orange linings. The car is also available with a blue and black interior scheme. The pedals are finished in faux aluminium and the glove box is cooled.

The i20 Active will use the same engines as the Elite i20. The petrol unit is a 1.2-litre motor producing 82 bhp and 115 Nm of torque. The diesel engine has a capacity of 1.4 litres and puts out 89 bhp and 220 Nm of torque.

The Hyundai i20 Active will be launched on March 17. It will take on other pseudo SUVs such as the Volkswagen Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross and Fiat Avventura.
