Hyundai Grand i10 sedan launch on Feb 4, Santa Fe on Feb 6

Korean manufacturer, Hyundai has announced that it will launch the i10 sedan on February 4, 2014 in New Delhi.

The car, which has been spotted many times testing on the highways near Hyundai’s plant in Tamil Nadu, is expected to get the same engine options, which are available on the hatchback – a 1197 cc, 4-cylinder petrol unit, producing 83 PS and 114 Nm of torque and a 1120 cc, 4-cylinder diesel, good for 71 PS and 160 Nm. The gearbox options are likely to be carried over too, which means the petrol will be available with a manual or an automatic transmission, while the diesel will only get a manual gearbox. The interiors of the sedan are not likely to be any different from those of the hatchback either.

With a length of less than four metres, the i10 Grand sedan will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze.

Hyundai has also announced that the all-new Santa Fe will be launched on February 6.

The new Santa Fe sports a new design language, which Hyundai calls Storm Edge. The car is longer and wider than the current Santa Fe and can seat 7 people. It will be powered by the same 2199 cc, 4-cylinder diesel engine that powers the outgoing car. Developing 197 PS and 422 Nm of torque, it is available with a choice of a 6-speed automatic gearbox or a 6-speed manual transmission.
