Honda recalls 3,879 units of City to update CVT software

Honda has announced that it is recalling 3,879 units of CVT variants of the Honda City sedan manufactured from February 2014 to November 2014 to update the software that manages the continuously variable transmission (CVT). This is a part of Honda’s recall campaign in several regions across the world.

Honda claims that the CVT control software will be updated to optimize the Hydraulic Pressure applied to the CVT.

The software will be updated free of cost at Honda dealerships across India from October 24, 2015. The company will contact the owners of the affected cars directly.

Additionally, owners can log on to Honda's website and ascertain if their vehicles are in the list of recalled vehicles. Owners need to enter their car's 17-character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the special microsite that has been created.
