Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) is set to launch the Mobilio in July 2014. Based on the Brio hatchback, the Mobilio was displayed at the Auto Expo in February this year.
Jnaneshwar Sen, Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales of HCIL) has confirmed to The Hindu that the 7-seater MPV will indeed be launched in the month July. However, he did not disclose any details regarding the pricing of the car.
Honda will manufacture the Mobilio at its Greater Noida plant, which is expected to roll out 45,000 units of the car annually.
The Mobilio will be available in petrol and diesel variants. The petrol version is likely to get a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder i-Vtec engine that develops 117 bhp @ 6600 rpm and 145 Nm of Torque @ 4600 rpm. The diesel version of the car is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder i-DTec motor that produces 98 bhp @ 3600 rpm and 200 Nm of torque @ 1750 rpm.
The Mobilio will be positioned against the Maruti Ertiga in India.
