Honda launches CB Hornet 160R in India at Rs. 79,900

Honda has launched the CB Hornet 160R motorcycle in India at a price of Rs. 79,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Honda has displayed the CB Hornet 160R at Revfest in August 2015. It is powered by a 163 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke petrol engine that develops 15.66 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 14.71 Nm of torque @ 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and complies with BS-IV emission norms.

The CB Hornet 160R is available in five colours - Neo Orange Metallic, Pearl Amazing White, Sports Red, Pearl Siren Blue and Pearl Nightstar Black. It has a sharply styled fuel tank, a single contoured seat, a short, sporty side-mounted silencer, X-shaped LED tail lamp, clear lens indicators, silver grab rails and 17-inch 5-spoke split alloy wheels. Other features include a maintenance-free battery and a fully digital instrument cluster.

The Hornet comes with single petal disc brakes at the front and rear and Honda's combi-brake system (CBS). The bike has a telescopic fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear.

The CB Hornet 160R will be initially available for sale in 21 locations namely New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Alibag, Bangalore, Bashirhat (Kolkata), Boisar, Chennai, Cochin, Dehradun, Goa, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Panvel, Pune, Surat, Thane, Vijaywada and Vizag, followed by availability in the other locations with the beginning of 2016.

Customers can book the CB Hornet 160R at Honda dealers or thorough an android smartphone application that can be downloaded from Google Play store. The 'CB Hornet 160R' application will give customers access to the product specifications and features. To make the booking, the user has to select the 'Book Now' button on the application. After submitting the required information, the page will be re-directed to an online payment gateway, following which, and the user will have to pay a booking amount of Rs 5,000. A transaction confirmation will be provided and the expected date of delivery will be than notified to the user.
