Honda has filed a patent for the PCX electric scooter in India.
The PCX e-scooter was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. It uses a 4.2 kW motor that is powered by a 50.4 V lithium-ion battery pack. The battery pack is removable but it can also be charged while connected to the scooter. It is said to offer a maximum range of 40 km on a single charge.
The PCX features a sporty maxi-scooter look. It has a large front apron with a twin headlamp setup and an integrated windscreen. It comes with an LCD instrument cluster and a remote start key.
The electric scooter is equipped with telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. It rides on alloy wheels and comes with a single front disc brake.
The Honda PCX e-scooter could compete with the likes of the Ather 450X, TVS iQube and the Bajaj Chetak. However, it is still unclear if Honda will launch it in the Indian market.
