Honda e unveiled in production form

Honda has unveiled the production version of the e electric hatchback. The car will make its public debut at the 2019 Frankfurt motor show.

The car looks largely similar to the prototype shown at the Geneva Motor Show, which was held in March 2019. Some features seen on the prototype, like the illuminated grille badge, have been removed.

The car has pop-out door handles and a Side Camera Mirror System instead of conventional ORVMs. The system provides live images to two six-inch screens inside the vehicle. On the inside, the car gets two 12.3-inch touchscreen systems.

The Honda e is powered by an electric motor available in two states of tune - 134 BHP and 152 BHP. Its torque is rated at 315 Nm. The car gets a 35.5 kWh battery and its range is claimed to be 220 km. According to Honda, with fast charging, the battery can be charged to 80% in 30 minutes.

The electric car comes with Honda Personal Assistant service and a smartphone application which can be used to lock/unlock the car and access navigation, detailed vehicle condition report, remote climate control, security and location monitoring, battery charge control and range monitor.

Honda is planning to electrify 100% of its European automobile sales by 2025.
