Honda City hatchback unveiled

The Thai-spec City hatchback will get a 1.0L turbo-petrol motor.

Honda has revealed the hatchback version of the fifth-generation City. The car will be sold in South East Asian markets.

The City hatchback is based on the same platform as the City sedan that is currently on sale in India. The car measures 4,349 mm in length, 1,748 mm in width, 1,488 mm in height and its wheelbase is 2,589 mm.

Up to the C-pillar, the car looks similar to the sedan. However, the rear fascia is completely new and features new tail lights and bumper. The RS variant seen in these images, gets gloss black trim on the grille with LED headlights and a sportier front bumper. It also has black ORVMs and 16-inch alloy wheels finished in dark chrome.

In Thailand, the City hatchback will be offered with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine producing 120 BHP and 173 Nm. The engine will be paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The City hatchback will replace the third generation Jazz in select markets including Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. The car will also be sold in South American markets.
