Honda begins test production of Mobilio at Greater Noida

Earlier this month we had reported that Honda Cars India Ltd. will build the Mobilio at its Greater Noida plant. It appears now that the company has started test production of the Brio-based MPV at the factory.

A post on theautomotiveindia.com contains pictures indicating that the Mobilio's test production at the Greater Noida facility has commenced. The car seen in the pictures is a diesel Mobilio in V trim level. While we cannot comment much on the various trim levels that the car will be available in at the moment, going by the variants of the rest of the Honda models, the V is likely to sit close to the top of the Mobilio range.

The Mobilio is expected to be available with a choice of two engines - 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, i-VTEC petrol or 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, i-DTEC diesel, both of which are adopted from the City sedan, which was launched earlier this year.

The Greater Noida plant is expected to roll out 45,000 units of the Mobilio yearly. The company is expected to launch the MPV in July 2014.
