Honda Amaze - 2 lakh sales up!

Honda has recorded sales of 2 lakh units of the Amaze compact sedan. The car was launched in April 2013, and thus it has achieved the said milestone in a period of just over three years since it was introduced. The success of the Amaze can be attributed to the fact that it was the first model in Honda's Indian portfolio, which was offered in both petrol and diesel variants.

After its launch in 2013, the Amaze got a mid-life facelift recently, which featured minor tweaks to the design, a new cabin layout, and a few feature additions as well. The Amaze is offered in four variants: E, S, SX, and VX. While all four variants can be bought with a 5-speed manual transmission, a CVT automatic unit is offered only on the petrol S and SX trim levels.

Engine options on offer include a 1.2-litre petrol that develops 86.7 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 109 Nm of torque @ 4,500 rpm, and a 1.5-litre diesel generating 98.6 BHP and 200 Nm of torque.
