Honda Africa Twin launched in India at Rs. 12.90 lakh

Honda has launched the CRF1000L Africa Twin motorcycle in India at a price of Rs. 12.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike was earlier showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida and will be assembled locally in the country. While the company has started accepting bookings for the Africa Twin, only 50 customers will be able to book the bike initially.

Powering the CRF1000L Africa Twin is a 998cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that develops 87 BHP @ 7,500 rpm and 92 Nm of torque @ 6,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), which offers the rider to choose between manual and automatic gear shifting modes, depending on the riding terrain and conditions.

Features on offer on the Africa Twin include a three-stage traction control system that can be completely switched off and a twin-channel ABS. The rider can disable the ABS function only for the rear wheel. The bike is equipped with a fully adjustable 45 mm dia inverted fork at the front that offers 230 mm of travel. The rear features an adjustable monoshock suspension. The bike has a ground clearance of 250 mm.

The CRF1000L will be sold only through Honda's Wing World dealerships across 22 cities in India. It is available only in the Victory Red colour.
