Hero Splendor iSmart 110 launched at Rs. 53,300

Hero MotoCorp has launched the Splendor iSmart 110 in India, at prices starting from Rs. 53,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is the first product in Hero's portfolio to be fully in-house designed and developed, after the company parted ways with Honda in 2010. The iSmart 110 was previously showcased at this year's Delhi Auto Expo. The new Splendor takes multiple inputs from the company’s R&D team from the Hero Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The Splendor iSmart 110 is built on an all-new frame, which is designed to optimize rigidity, durability and agility. Powering the bike is a new 110 cc TOD (torque on demand) engine. This air-cooled engine also comes with Hero's patented i3S (Idle-Start-Stop) technology, which automatically cuts off fuel supply and shuts down the engine when the bike is stationary for more than 10 seconds. As a result, it increases fuel economy of the bike, especially in stop-go city traffic. Interestingly, the said engine is BS-IV compliant, making it the only bike to offer a BS-IV engine in its segment.

Talking about the numbers, the Splendor iSmart's 110 cc engine is capable of generating 9 BHP @ 7,500 rpm and 9 Nm @ 5,500 rpm. Though Hero hasn't revealed the official fuel economy figures of the Splendor iSmart, the company claims that their new bike is 6% more efficient and 9% more powerful than other Splendor models.

Aesthetically, the new Splendor gets new graphics, dual tone mirrors, new trapezoidal headlamp, a sharper tail lamp, and a chrome tipped exhaust. Features on offer with the new Hero Splendor iSmart 110 include automatic headlamp on (AHO), part analog part digital instrument cluster, service due indicator, and a new muffler.
