Hero Motocorp launches Splendor iSmart

Indian two-wheeler giant, Hero Motocorp has launched the Splendor iSmart motorcycle with i3S technology at a price of Rs. 47,250 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Splendor iSmart uses design cues from the Splendor NXG. The bike is available in four new colours with body graphics.

The Splendor iSmart features a tubular double cradle frame chassis, with a telescopic fork front suspension and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Stopping power is provided by drum brakes all round.

Powering the Splendor iSmart is a 97.5 cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine, which produces 7.8 PS and 8.4 Nm of Torque. This is the same unit that has been seen in many of the company’s offerings over the years. However, unlike other Splendors, the iSmart is equipped with i3S technology (Idle Stop-Start System), which automatically shuts the engine while idling and turns it on when the rider twists the throttle. This system is said to enhance the fuel efficiency of the bike. An electric starter has also been provided on the iSmart.
