Govt. extends validity of motor vehicle documents till Dec 31

The government of India has extended the validity of motor vehicle documents like driving licenses, registration certificates (RC), permits and fitness certificates till December 31, 2020. The decision has been taken due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown which has disrupted operations.

Vehicle documents that have expired on February 1 or would expire by December 31 will be valid till December 31, 2020. An advisory regarding the same has been issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) to all the states and union territories.

Earlier, the government had extended the validity of vehicle documents that had expired on June 30 till September 30, 2020.
