Genesis GV60 unveiled: Brand's first all-electric crossover

Genesis is yet to officially reveal the specifications and complete list of features for the international markets.

Genesis - Hyundai Motor Group's luxury brand, has unveiled its first all-electric vehicle in the form of the GV60. The new Genesis GV60 all-electric crossover is based on the same E-GMP platform which underpins the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6.

The company states that the 'G' in the name stands for Genesis, 'V' represents the EV's versatility and the number '60' is said to be the lowest denomination, emphasising 'athleticism', while the higher numbers focus on elegance.

In terms of design, the Genesis GV60 carries forward all the signature design elements, including the quad headlamps, a slightly revised signature Crest grille and quad tail lights at the rear. The GV60 now comes with a clamshell bonnet at the front, cameras replacing the ORVMs, strikingly designed alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles and a fixed spoiler at the rear.

On the inside, the Genesis GV60 comes with a large display, housing both the digital instrument cluster and the touchscreen infotainment unit, with connected tech and two screens for the rear-view cameras. The car also features steering-mounted controls, premium leather upholstery, mood lighting and many other features and equipment.

Considering the GV60 is based on the same platform as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, we can expect it to be powered by the same electric powertrain. However, Genesis is yet to officially reveal the specifications and complete list of features for the international markets.
