General Motors India sees changes in top management

General Motors India has announced some changes in its top management. Among the developments is the creation of a new post of Chief Operating Officer.

The position of Chief Operating Officer will be filled by Kaher Kazem. He will manage the industrial side of the company's business and be based at GM's talegaon factory. Kazem joined GM Holden, Australia in 1995 as a senior engineer. He went on to hold various leadership positions in the company. He moved to GM Thailand / ASEAN in 2009 and held the position of Vice President of Manufacturing and Quality. Since 2012, he has been in charge of GM Uzbekistan's operations.

Hardeep Singh Brar has been appointed as Vice President of Sales for GM India effective July 1, 2015. He will be based at the company's headquarters in Gurgaon and will report to Arvind Saxena, President and Managing Director of GM India. Brar has held various positions in Maruti Suzuki since 1995. He then worked for Volkswagen Group Sales India as the head of Network and Dealer Development.

Jack Uppal will take on the role of Vice President of Marketing and Customer Experience from August 1, 2015. Like Brar, he will be based at the company's headquarters in Gurgaon and will report to Arvind Saxena. He joined GM of Canada in 2001 and has held various sales, marketing, customer care and network development-related positions in GM Canada and GM Middle East. He has been assisting Stefan Jacoby, Executive Vice President and president of GM India since 2013.

Rajesh Singh who held the position of Vice President of Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing, will leave GM India from August 1, 2015.
